The mat is the foundation of the Pilates system, which you can practice in the comfort of your own home. Now, whether you are home or away, if you can roll out a mat, you can find your balance with Pilates!

Basic Mat

Basic mat is for all levels. Class progresses at a slow, gentle pace through a sequence of basic Pilates exercises. The pace allows for focus on learning the fundamentals of proper breath mechanics, correct postural alignment and how to transition between exercises. This is a full body workout that will strengthen your core, legs and arms, while allowing more opportunity to stretch.

Intermediate mat

Intermediate mat will increase your exercise repertoire, strength and stamina. Class moves at moderate pace as you flow through the fundamental exercises into more complex choreographed movements. Variations are given for those progressing into the advanced routine and modifications are given for those developing into the Intermediate level.

Advanced mat is the most challenging level and is for those that feel strong and confident with the Intermediate routine. Class moves at a quick and invigorating pace, testing your endurance, strength and flexibility. Control and power are the focus as you practice this dynamic workout.

The use of props is designed to enhance your understanding of the Pilates mat exercises and principles by adding resistance and kinesthetic experiences. It’s almost like being in class at the studio.

Props we use may include resistance bands, rings, light arm weights, towels, rollers, tennis ball and even apples!
